Description:Batteries Plus Bulbs is growing, not only their name and lines of products, but also their team! We are currently looking for a Associate Product Manager to join our growing company.

If you have at least two years of experience in product management, have great analytical skills, and enjoy a fast paced customer service driven environment, then this position may be perfect for you!

Within this role, an individual would be responsible for leveraging product knowledge to develop and maintain channel support sales strategies and activities. As well, this person will develop and maintain pricing strategies for assigned product categories to achieve company financial objectives.
Duties:Product Management
• Conduct pricing analysis to compare Ascent pricing against the competitive set and/or alternative vendors. Provide store cost recommendations for Ascent product to upper management that support category margin targets.
• Develop category and SKU level pricing strategies to support Ascent gross margin targets. Conduct regular analysis of category performance.
• Work with and lead cross functional teams to source new products or line extensions. Ensure desired product specifications are met.
• Assist the Quality Assurance team to resolve any product quality issues. Work with the Sourcing team and/or domestic vendors to work through related inventory.
• Communicate price changes, new items, and other category information to appropriate internal and external personnel.
• Work with Demand Planning to proactively manage excess inventory and backorder / out of stock inventory events. Develop strategies to limit events, where appropriate.
• Conduct regular review of SKUs to identify underperforming /declining SKUs within assigned categories. Provide recommendations to rationalize SKUs.
• Identifying new vendor partners for assigned categories when applicable. Negotiate program terms and implement new programs when needed. Grow and maintain existing vendor relationships for assigned categories. Resolve vendor issues.
• Develop basic understanding of related testing equipment for products.

Sales Practices
• Collect and provide product data for use in sales collateral. Work with Category Management and Marketing to develop sales collateral (i.e. spec sheets). Maintain integrity of current collateral containing product specifications.
• Participate in franchise training to improve product knowledge. Identify vendor partners and “best in class” franchisee participants to aid in training initiatives.
• Assist in development of technical training materials and content to aid stores in managing and selling product. (Material examples include videos, tool kits and training modules.)
• Work with Bid Research Analyst to provide pricing for large opportunities. Create strategies or programs to support volume buys from Ascent or domestic vendor partners for assigned categories.
• Work with Data Management to maintain the integrity of ProSource product information.

Product Support
• Be the product expert for assigned categories. Act as the “3rd level” of product support for stores by providing product and technical information when needed.

Qualifications:• Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in product management.
• Working understanding of Microsoft Office. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
• Highly analytical; ability to assess situations using statistical and qualitative analysis and make recommendations and/or decisions to meet business needs. Ability to analyze market and financial data, exceptions, trends, etc.
• Process oriented with good project management skills; capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to take ownership of a project and effectively prioritize work to meet business requirements. Strongly motivated with sense of urgency.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills. Must use analysis of facts and personal judgment in order to make recommendations and solve problems within established guidelines.
• Ability to work autonomously, collaboratively, and in a team environment. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Ability to independently handle multiple projects/tasks at one time. Able to plan, take ownership of a project and establish priorities to meet deadlines in a fast paced, changing environment with good control and results. The capacity and desire to handle heavy workloads and extra hours when required.
• Ability to communicate concrete and abstract ideas effectively using both oral and written means. Ability to make presentations to senior management, groups of employees, or customers.
• Strongly motivated with sense of urgency
• Flexible and well organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• A quick study and self-starter that shows initiative.
